Black Pearl - Troubles Again by raysheaf Black Pearl - Troubles Again by raysheaf
Done in UltraFractal 5.04. No imported images. The only manipulation was due to a bug in the program, that refuses to render small elements. So had to render the stern part with the windows and the lanterns bigger, than scaled down in Photoshop. Otherwise UltraFractal seems perfectly suitable to make concrete ships.
Gees, one never learns... Just received an email by the UltraFractal author, the incredible Frederik Slijkerman and he solved my problem. For very small elements one has to change the drawing mode from "Guessing" to some of the other 2. This made my day as new more complex works will come then :-) So with this in mind the picture could be done entirely as a raw fractal!

I love old ships! I love all of your...paintings? But you didin't actually  pick up a paintbrush did you? Pirates of the Carribean series are my favorite movies.

In this case no, as it is stated it was done with fractals, i.e. formulas. I have however ships painted in traditional way as well.

:-)Thanks, as you see fractals can make a very concrete things too, if used with imagination.

I came to ask that you move this out of the Fractal Art area, and then I read the description, and now I want to buy Ultra Fractal.

Thank you! Well UltraFractal is great to achieve quick result. Sure I could draw it with a tablet, yet not at all so fast - like 2-3h to make it. Sure it needs time to render too, but in this time I can make other things :-)

That's awesome. I've used ultra fractal before, but never to make something like this.

Give a look at my tutorial [link] My approach is pretty similar to make anything in it. Of course finding a more suitable formula is great, but I explain how to make things from general formulas.
