Shangri-La Revisited by raysheaf Shangri-La Revisited by raysheaf
New fractal cityscape. Entirely done in Ultrafractal 5.04.

This will be my entry in a forthcoming thematic scarf design contest, again for the German boutique Front Row Society. The original again is a monstrous render of 21,260X8,268px!

Did you say scarf design? Does that mean this will be made into a fabric design?

Yes, exactly. I have already 2 of my fractals done as real scarfs and one will be used also for a full collection 2013 - robes, shoes, bag etc. up to iPad/iPhone cases. However the guys were so stupid to not give a prize to this one, they are now going for absolutely idiotic and default kaleidoscopic patterns made with some premade filters, so I keep it for another boutique when this one starts production.

I would love this piece as a scarf. When it comes into production PLEASE give me a link to buy it!

If you have other products with other boutiques, I'd also love to see those.

Thanks! :joy:

Thanks a lot, dear! I'm very happy that I found kind of a more interesting style to make cityscapes. Btw, I made one of this recent fractals in acrylics too, and will make others as well. They stand very well in traditional too, you'll see soon.

I would spend too much time twirling this around my fingers to wear it for any length of time. It is lovely though.

Can I ask how you overlay your images? I'm trying to achieve a similar result for my university photography assignment and mine's a disaster lol. This has beautiful colours, by the way! I'd wear a scarf like this.

Doesn't matter in UltraFractal or PhotoShop, layers blending is pretty the same. I usually render as a PSD file and fine tune later transparencies in PhotoShop.

Oui, je pense a réaliser quelque chose pareille sur un mur de 4.50X1,60m. Bien sur ça dépend d'un ami que fait des projets d’intérieur:-)
